At Compost Collective, we believe in making composting accessible and engaging for everyone. Recently, we had the fantastic opportunity to participate in the UAL Final Showcase, where Hana from our team extended her Symbiotic Neighbourhood project with a dynamic pop-up event at Central Saint Martins. Our mobile compost cart, set up at the entrance, became a hub of activity as we aimed to raise awareness about home composting.
The pop-up wasn’t just an exhibit; it was an interactive experience designed to educate and inspire. We created engaging quizzes that challenged participants’ knowledge about composting, and the response was incredible! Over 100 people filled out our interest form, eager to learn more about how they could turn everyday waste into valuable resources. These quizzes also allowed us to debunk common composting myths and spread the word about the importance of food waste management.
But it wasn’t all about education—fun was at the heart of our pop-up. We offered exciting sustainable giveaways to participants, making the experience memorable and enjoyable. Our mission is to foster community involvement and regenerate green spaces through composting, and this event was a perfect example of how we’re achieving that. By engaging with the community, we’re not only addressing the food waste crisis but also showing how small actions can lead to significant environmental impact.
The event was a resounding success, reinforcing our commitment to spreading the message of sustainability. We’re thrilled to have connected with so many like-minded individuals and look forward to bringing our innovative composting model to even more communities. Together, we can turn waste into wonder and create a greener, more sustainable future for all.
